Lightbulb Solution found for "unable to change channels in Beyond TV SnapStream.Net guide"

For the past two days after upgrading to BTV 4.6.1 frmo BTV Express 4.1.0, my ADS Instant TV USB tuner refused to change channels, both in the SnapStream.TV guide itself and while recording.

So, I got a bunch of nice perfectly timed recordings of stuff only on the Sci Fi channel, which was the last channel my external; USB tuner was locked into. It was labeled properly as the intended recording from other channels (JOhn Stewart on Comedy, for example) , but the tuner itself had never changed channels, so I got The Borg instead of Jon Stewart. Not that I don't like Sci Fi, but.....

I opened CapWiz that came with the ADS USB tuner and was able to change channels all day long. So... hmmm, tuner good. But, every time I went back to BTV 4, it would only view and record the last tuned channel before I started BTV. Grrrr...

So, I reset the video source for BTV by doing the following:

- right-click the BTV system tray and exit the program
- find the BTV setup wizard

a. the setup wizard might be an icon in your SnapSteam Media folder in yoru Start menu
b. the setup wizard can be found in the path \Program Files\SnapStream Media\BeyondTV\SetupWizard.exe . Double click to start

- run through the setup wizard, and when it gets to setting up your soure device and channel lineup, let it detect your device, but create a brand new source and even perhaps a new channel lineup. MAKE SURE TO DELETE THE OLD SOURCE!!
- Test the new source, hopefully you can change channels in the test. Be patient, remember the test is actualyl recording the channels.
- Now you should be able to complete the wizard and open BTV and hopefully you'll be able to change channels again!

Worked for me anyway!

Alternately, you could right click on BTV icon running in the system tray and choose "Advanced settings". After the advanced settings logs on to the BTV webserver choose "Audio/Video Inputs", then create a new source and delete the previous source. If you can, make sure there's only one source! When I left the old damaged source BTV was still ill and refused to tune for me.

Let me know if this helps you!
