I am getting single recordings that are showing up as two recordings of the same item/time/etc., however only one is real.
In the web admin, I cannot add a video folder or make any changes. I get: Server Error in '/' Application. Multiple controls with the same ID 'EditQzpcRG9jdW1lbnRzIGFuZCBTZXR0aW5nc1xBZG1pbmlzd HJhdG9yXE15IERvY3VtZW50c1xNeSBUVlxEZWZhdWx0' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs. ... I've removed and cleaned out .net. I've reinstalled BTV. Help? Last edited by jjohnson; 04-16-2007 at 08:54 AM. Reason: to clarify title |

Re: Multiple controls with the same ID
I'm having a similar problem. Before this, I've been running BeyondTV with no problems for several months now. I've set up several video folders, one per hard drive.
Yesterday, suddenly, BeyondTV stopped recognizing all my video folders (except for my default folder). When I went to the web admin interface, it showed two entries for the default folder and none for any other folder. When I tried to view, edit, delete, or add new folders, I would get this message: Server Error in '/' Application. Multiple controls with the same ID 'EditRDpcQmV5b25kVFY=' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Does anybody know where or how I can fix this problem? Some more info: I'm not having the "single recordings showing up as two recordings" problem that jjohnson is having. However, I am experiencing a couple other problems, both of which started at the same time as the video folder problem: 1. If I move a video file into one of the monitored video folders, sometimes that file becomes unreadable until I do some tricks with subfolders to move the file out of the video folder. 2. I run BTVShowInfo a lot: http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/show...&postcount=140 That program can no longer connect to the BTV server. By the way, I'm also running the MediaMVP BTV program: http://blogs.snapstream.com/2006/09/...ied-beyond-tv/ I'm not so much interested right now in *why* the problem happened; I'm more interested in figuring out how to fix it. Thanks! |

Re: Multiple controls with the same ID
Does anyone know how to save the shows that are already recorded and reinstall them after a new installation of BeyondTV? Can I just copy the files in my default folder somewhere and then copy them back after reinstallation? Is there some index somewhere that needs to be updated? If I just copy them, will all the data still be there - channel, time, etc.?

Re: Multiple controls with the same ID
Unfortunately, I think we're alone on this thread. FWIW, I just did everything manually. It took an hour or two.
If you do take the manual approach, something that may help you at least get a list of your current recordings (before uninstalling) is to go to the web admin interface -> Setup Recordings. That at least lists your recorded shows and upcoming recordings. You can save these lists (using your browser's Save command) so when it comes time to re-installing, at least you have the lists to refer to. |

Re: Multiple controls with the same ID
IF you use the backup and restore option in BTV then reinstalling should not be a big deal. After you reinstall, just step through the wizard to the end. Then restore the settings you backed up and everything should be back the way it was before you started. No need to do anything with your recordings. Although as nanook mentioned they will all be listed as new.
I thought there was an option in the webadmin to remove the new marker, but I guess not.

Re: Multiple controls with the same ID
I am having this same problem. It used to be two recordings of each show appearing in my recorded show list. Then it changed to 4. Now suddenly it is 8. There appears to only really be one copy because if I delete any of them the file disappears, but 7 of the links still appear. If I click any of them it cannot find the file.
In advanced settings, if I go to video folders the same folders (show up 8 times), but if I try to delete or even refresh the list I get the multiple controllers with the same id. I guess I will go ahead with the backup then uninstall and reinstall solution, but I was curious if anyone has found out what was causing this problem and if there is a better way to resolve it. Thanks. |
