Quick question about ORB and BTV

Hey all, I'm using ORB to watch all my recorded shows, and its work fantastic, however am I correct to understand I cant use ORB to watch LIVE tv on my laptop while BTV is running at the same time? I leave them both running at work but would like to be able to have BTV running and watch a game on my laptop.

Re: Quick question about ORB and BTV

Orb and BTV can't share a tuner, they both expect to 'own' it. So if you want to run both proggies on the same system then I'd pick up another cheap tuner for Orb. A cheap USB tuner would be perfect for Orb use.

Note that Orb uses a LOT of cpu so I don't recommend you using it to stream when BTV is recording. I'm actually in the process of moving Orb to another system that won't be used or running BTV when I'm not at home (and thus likely to be using Orb).

Re: Quick question about ORB and BTV

The latest Orb beta now allows tuners to be split between Orb and BTV.
My ATI software tuner (not used by BTV) can now be used by Orb for streaming.

My BTV uses the PVR-500 and PVR-150.

Now both are in harmony!
