Vista 64 bit and Link

Anyone having issues with Link crashing when it first opens in Vista? It was running fine when I had 4.5, then I updgraded to 4.6 and it quit working. I ripped it out and reinstalled it and it still does the same thing. It starts and then it's like it full screens, disables aero and then crashes. I don't get the screen that prompts me to pick a server, it crashes before then.

Thanks for any ideas.

No ideas anyone???

I've tried installing the latest .net framework (1.1 up to 3.0) and no luck.

Re: Vista 64 bit and Link

I am going to install it tonight. Still waiting for my TechNET Vista 64bit to download. I will let you know if I run into any problems. I am going to change all my machines to Vista this week if possible.

Re: Vista 64 bit and Link

It was working fine, and then one day it up and quit. I've removed it multiple times now with no luck. I even used the cleanup tool to remove .net 1.1.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: Vista 64 bit and Link

BTV Link is not compatible with any 64 bit OS.

Re: Vista 64 bit and Link

Not true. I have it working fine right now on Vista Ultimate x64. It was also working fine on WinXP x64. The only thing that has been a PITA to get working was my old ATI Remote Wonder but I was able to get the X10drivers and installed them prior to installing the ATI software. One reboot later everything back at 100%. The only think Vista doesn't like about BTV is it can't stay in Aero Glass mode while it runs.

Re: Vista 64 bit and Link

As I said before it was running great, and then one day it up and quit. Everything was going great - disabling of Aero is normal from what I read.

Re: Vista 64 bit and Link

BTVLink works fine with XP64 since it can run 32 bit apps with no problems. Anything to do with drivers XP64 will only use 64 bit drivers, period.

It can run 32 bit apps all day long with no problems so something else is going on.

SAV 10.2.x killed a few of my apps, I had an issue with my BTV link shortcut, I recreated it and it has been fine since.
