download link on watch page working?

Has anyone gotten the "download" link to work when you are remotely logged in to BTV for v 4.5.0? I recently tried to transfer a .mpg file to my laptop when I was on the road. When I connected to the watch page (recorded shows) and clicked on the download file option, IE displays "page can not be found". I also tried to do this locally and got the same result. I can remotely stream the .wmv files and watch live TV remotely so I do not believe it is a firewall issue. (actually I turned off my firewall to test and got the same result) Any ideas?

Thanks

Not that this really helps you, but I just tried it on my system and it worked fine.

Re: download link on watch page working?

I haven't tried to download MPGs through the NTV Web Interface thing, but you can try to right-click it and choose "Save As..."?

Re: download link on watch page working?

I've had the same issue - I "fixed" it by shutting down and then restarting BTV through the web interface.

At that point, all the links seem to work.

For me, the links for recently ShowSqueezed shows wouldn't work. I'm wondering if, somehow, the library service is holding a lock on the file, and not allowing the download service to get a handle to the file.

I've seen the library service do that when I was doing some edits with VirtualDub.

Did you add in the VirtualDub, the sequence libary sometimes misholds the inferface of the BTV. Try to "promote" the subject instead of delivering it. Should work.

Huh? Sorry, I don't understand what you're suggesting.

Re: download link on watch page working?

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried shutting down and restarting the service from the web interface and it did not resolve the problem. I also tried the file save as and get the same result (a conection with the server could not be established) Any other ideas? Being able to transfrer the .mpg while on the road would be really nice. I know it would take a long time, but I could let it run all night while I'm at the hotel

Re: download link on watch page working?

Hmm - the only other suggestion I had was to make sure the right port was open (8135, I think), but you said you already tried it with the firewall off.

Check to see if the BTVNetworkService is up and running - that's the service that's providing the download capability. Also make sure that process has access through the firewall (and that you have ports forwarded if necessary).

You can use the command (in a CMD window) netstat -a -o to find if any processes are listening on port 8135. If you don't find anything, then there might be something misconfigured.

Re: download link on watch page working?

Got it, thanks. I did not have port 8135 forwarded in my router
