HDTV Signal Strength

I'm trying to diagnose some HD problems I'm having and I think it might be in the signal strength. If I use the signal checker app that came with the dvico fusion it hovers right around 100% but I will occasionally, while watching hd, see bad artifacting and skipping.

What I'm looking for is some way of logging the results of a signal check. I just want to let it run for a few hours and see what I get.

I've looked around a little bit and all i've found are apps that show a realtime bar graph which is close but it don't want to sit there and stare at a graph for 4 hours.

I might be able to write my own if there were any API's I could call, though driver level calling would be possible i'd prefer to keep it as simple as possible.

Re: HDTV Signal Strength

Yes, that would be an interesting app...something to interface with Perfmon would be cool.

As a complete hack, if you are just interested in signal strength recording...there are applications that will record what happens on your screen, making a video. You could record dvico's signal checker and then play back the video at high speed, looking for times of problematic reception.

Re: HDTV Signal Strength

An interface to Perfmon would be ideal though maybe a little more involved than I desire.

If I could get the source to one of these signal checker apps I'm sure I could modify it to write out to a log file instead of display on a graph. Or possibly do both.
