VisionTek 550 pro...no audio or video

1) moved the cards in system to address a "freeze" issue
2) lost TV signal in BTV
3) re-ran Set-up wizard
did not work
4) Installed latest drivers for ATI AVStream from VTek site
5) re-ran Set-up Wizard
did not work
6) Moved cards back to original slots and repeated the above
did not work
7) completely removed the device/drivers from Win XP, rebooted, installed latest drivers
did not work
8) removed Sound card drivers and device from system and repeated the above
same problem
9) re-installed soundcard drivers and device and repeated the above
same problem
10) set up BTV via the web-based console
same problem

Now, here's the kicker: on a hunch I ran Nero 7's tv interface program AND I COULD GET VIDEO AND AUDIO! I could watch every program.

Man, I am stumped. ( and I don't normally cuss)

Help please.

Re: VisionTek 550 pro...no audio or video

Are you saying that it was working with BTV (ie pre #1) and that these issues happened only after you switch pci slots? Or has it never worked with BTV?

Is this Beyond TV 4 or the BTV SE that came bundled with the card?

Re: VisionTek 550 pro...no audio or video

It worked perfectly before.
I'm using the full 4.4 version of BTV.

Re: VisionTek 550 pro...no audio or video

When you say no audio or video, do you mean in the test screen during setup? If the answer is yes, did you try continuing on through the setup as if the test was successful or did you just presume since there was no a/v that the installation was borked?. Carry on through the install process as if it tested successfully and try running BTV. I don't know why, but some people (including me) have never seen a sucessful video/audio test but BTV still works perfectly. Judging by the lack of response to you thread, nobody has a better idea.

I posted this for another guy within the last 10 days and it solved his problem, hope it does the same for you.
