Question No subchannel with Kworld BDA 2881 Tuner

I have two local stations that have subchannels advertised in snapstream.net (there are other broadcast subchannels not in snapstream.net). I'm receiving HDTV through a KWorld BDA2881 Tuner. When I select the subchannel on LiveTV, there is no difference from the main channel. When I record the channel, I can extract the subchannel using HDTV2MPEG, but otherwise I can't view it on BTV. I've tried the '[' and ']' keys and they make no difference in the viewing (not surprising, since picking the subchannel on the tuner doesn't make any difference). When viewing HDTV with other software, I can select the subchannels without any difficulty. Is there something I need to do to configure this differently?

Lightbulb Re: No subchannel with Kworld BDA 2881 Tuner

I think I understand this problem. The one station which had the subchannel has stopped broadcasting it, but snapstream.net doesn't know this. BTV seems to respond in a bad way by not allowing one to see the subchannel on the second station after trying to view the one on the first channel. This is not good behavior, but by hiding the missing subchannel, I should be able to prevent this from being a problem. It would be nice if BTV would allow for channel scanning to ensure that channels are present or to find channels that aren't in snapstream.net, as we have a number of subchannels that are not on snapstream.net but are visible from a normal HDTV Tuner including the one I'm using if I use different software to drive it.
