how to merge 2 directories with indexes

I've rebuilt my PC and have already recorded several shows. This is with a new hard drive. I still have my old data and want to find out:

how do I merge the 2 directories with indexes?
How do I rebuild an index so it recognizes all the files I've copied to the directory?

Thanks in advance. I searched but came up empty (not using the right keywords I guess).

Ed

Re: how to merge 2 directories with indexes

BTV automatically manages its indexing -- depending on the Library Folders defined.

If you are Adding -- or Want to Add folders -- simply do so -- and it will scan / add the shows.

as shown in this article:

Or if this is Something else -- please clarify.

Re: how to merge 2 directories with indexes

I simply copy the video files with their smartchapter files to the new drive and BTV takes care of the rest.

Note that any previously viewed files that are copied will be marked as "New" after copying.
