Remote control for BTV Link using IrDA?

Hi guys,

I've got BTV Link setup for my bedroom PC, and I've been using my mouse to control it. I've been thinking if I can make use of some spare parts I have sitting at home to make life easier for myself though.

I've got a Hauppauge remote sitting around (since I use Harmony remote for my main HTPC downstairs, the hauppauge remote is not used). I've also got an old Jeteye PC ESI-9680 serial IrDA sitting around. So I went ahead and installed the IrDa on my PC. Everything works fine. I tested it, and was able to send photos back and forth between cellphone + PC ... so I figure the IrDA port works on the PC.

Now I try to control BTV Link using the hauppauge remote and it doesn't work. I start BTV Link, and pressing the hauppauge remote buttons don't do anything. Running the firefly mini remote program doesn't do anything for me neither ...

Is there anyway to make this work?
