Motorola Serial Port Question [How To Edit config]

I hope I can explain this clearly...
I am about to get a Cable Box from TWC (I'm in Pearland, but have same lineup as Houston, and their phone # is the same as Houston's too), and I believe it's going to be a Motorola one with a standard serial port on it.

I've had one before and while the serial port tuning was communicating stuff fine, I ran into that issue where if you enter the channel # of the channel you are already watching, an OSD will come on screen and stay there until you hit the "Exit" button on the TWC Remote.

Since I was going to move soon I just returned the cable box to TWC and let it go...

A few weeks have passed since then, and I am now settled in to my new Apartment.

I am going to pick up a cable box tomorrow.
However, before I do that, I though I'd try to see if I could find an ini file or something that I could alter so that when I have the cable box hooked up, it would enter the "Exit" command at the end of each channel change request.

I poked around in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\tuner\Serial_Codes\

...And found a file named "Motorola Digital Cable Box.rmt".

I was hoping there'd be an option in there that would let me add the "Exit" command, but couldn't find it.
There were some odd (Hex I think?) codes in there that I didn't understand (I'm not a programmer) and some options for "Enter" and such, but nothing that would let me append it to enter an "Exit" command.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am running BTV 4.3.

Re: Motorola Serial Port Question

I don't know the exit command, but there is an option to send a channel down command before tuning that seems like it might address your issue.
