Red face Direct TV Help

I have used Beyond TV for the past couple of years with our local cable company. I have recently switched to Direct TV and I am lost on how to make these two products work with one another.

The receiver that I have is a model # D11 (it only has USB in the back). I have 4 Hauppauge PVR-150-MCE cards and I need to know what I else I need to make this work. I have looked on the forums and I am more confused now than before I started.

Also, I do not use fire fly or the Hauppauge remote. I use a wireless keyboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Kelly

Re: Direct TV Help

Your DTV box will connect to one tuner, probably through s-video. For the other three tuners, you need three more DTV boxes (not what you wanted to hear).

Re: Direct TV Help

Seriously! So all those other threads I have read are from people who have DTV and use only one tuner? That does not seem right?

Thanks for the reply. I feel really defeated right now.

Re: Direct TV Help

Or they have multiple Settop boxes. Think about it. How would your tuners receive different channels from the same settop box at the same time?

Re: Direct TV Help

I have DTV with a Hauppauge PVR-500MCE and a PVR-150MCE. The 150MCE is for over the air analog channels, the 500MCE I have two STB connected via S-video and controlled through serial tunning (communication port 1&2). If you do not have communication ports you will need a USB hardware interface like the USB-UIRT IR Blaster. The PVR-150 non MCE have the ability to change the channels on a DTV STB via the IR blaster cable. Hope that helps.
