BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Been running BTV 4.2 a week or so now, upgraded from 4.1. Everything has been working great. Then sometime yesterday Live TV and recordings quit working. Tried running the BTV Setup Wizard several times, removing the tuner, changing the lineup, etc, etc, and it'll never pass the test (no picture or sound) and I get the error noted. Yet the tuner is detected okay, and an AutoScan finds the correct channel lineup. Uninstalled 4.2, went back to 4.1...no joy there either. Uninstalled the Haup driver, reinstalled, doesn't find any newer drivers (and yes I'm using the SS Haup drivers for the 150). Tried updating DirectX, already at 9.0c, no joy there. Have tried 3D/Hardware vs Overlay...zilch. Have rebooted several times.
So basically my BTV is dead in the water for no known reason. I made zero changes to the system...it just broke. Ideas appreciated, else I guess I'll have to go the TS route here.

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Do you have any other software to confirm that the tuner is working ?

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Hmmm...just tried it..apparently not. Same thing...channels detected but when I hit the green "TV" button...nada.

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Not good. Maybe try running HWCLEAR again and reinstalling the drivers ? Can you try a different PCI slot ?

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Yes - from Hauppauge. Anytime you need to change the drivers for Hauppauge products, you need to run HWCLEAR, reboot, install the new drivers, and run setup wizard.

Be careful. Haupauge no longer requires HWClear for my card, HCWDriverInstall instead. Upgrades are much much simpler now, except for BTV having minor problems with newer drivers. (stretched video on first use after re-boot, for me)

I know that they say they don't, but after all of these years of not releasing drivers capable of an upgrade....... I do the same for my video drivers.

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Well the HCWClear didn't help...after a reboot and driver reinstall it's still broken. Looks like it's hardware, as in the PVR-150 died or at least the capture part of it did. The fact that all was happy-happy and I touched nothing before it suddenly just quit tends to reinforce that theory. I'll try a different slot but not hopeful at this point.
I did buy the 150 as a SS package deal here earlier this year...so hopefully there is some kind of warranty replacement policy.

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Well I opened a TS ticket yesterday...my 150 is dead or at least crippled. No action thus far on the ticket.

Edit: Got replies from TS the next day, it was moved over to Sales who sent me an RMA#...I shipped the broken one to SS yesterday (04.06.06). I know some folk here have complained about SS TS but thus far they've been exceeding my expectations.

Re: BTV Failed to Build Live TV Graph

Got the RMA'd new 150 today, installed it and back in biz. Thanks SS!
Overall TS experience was positive...good email response, fairly quick replacement. One note if you ever have to RMA something back to SS; they process returns on Fridays so try to get it returned to them right before then.
