HD Channels Crash Computer

When I view HD channels, the computer crashes. This does not occur all the time but nonetheless is an unacceptable action. Have others had this problem? Please help.

Re: HD Channels Crash Computer

We need more information. What tuner? What computer? What OS?

If it happens to be a DVICO Fusion, and you're getting Blue Screens about a Page fault, I had that problem too. Just download the latest version of their software.

Re: HD Channels Crash Computer

I'm having 2 HD stations crash BTV (not puter) after a few seconds while the rest of DT stations are ok

Fixed this by using ATI video decoder in player decoder settings

Re: HD Channels Crash Computer

I am running BTV 4.0 and have the DVICO Fusion USB2 HD Tuner and a Hauppauge PVR-150 analog tuner. I am running Windows XP SP2 and have an ATI graphics card.

I will download the updated version of BTV and try that.

I never actually see a page fault screen. The computer just restarts. Sometimes it happens when I start viewing Live TV and sometimes when a recording starts (only with HD channels though).

Re: HD Channels Crash Computer

Depending on your XP settings, you might not see a blue screen -- it would show as a reboot. The solution for me wasn't BTV, it was the new DVICO software.

Re: HD Channels Crash Computer

I upgraded to FusionHDTV 3.3 and corresponding drivers and my computer no longer crashes when attempting to view HD channels. This has also seemed to fix the problem with no being able to view a 1080i signal in BTV.

Thanks for the help.
