Beyond, USB-UIRT, Girder and Harmony 880, any solution

Hello,

I use Beyond TV 4.1, with USB-UIRT and I have a Logitech Harmony 880. The zone 1 and 2 of the USB-UIRT are used to send to my emitters of my external Box. So the Zone 3 ( front of USB-UIRT ) is free.

I want to used it ( Remote ) to control Beyond TV. Have you any suggestion, I can use Girder. Is it possible to emulate a Hauppauge Remote, MCE 2005 Remote or any other IR Remote. Or do I need to buy a other IR Receiver ?

If it is possible to do it, can you show me a step-by-step or a web page can show me how to do it ?

I have the same remote and it was suggested that I buy a StreamZap remote and have the Harmony emulate it. For $25 it was worth a shot. It works but I'm still tweaking it.

Is it possible to emulate any IR remote without to buy one. There's no solution possible with all the item I have ?

Like to emulate a Hauppauge Remote or any other with Girder or anything else ?

Use some middleware program (Girder, HIP, Remote2Key) to map remote IR signals to BTV keyboard commands. You can use the Hauppauge remote:
1. send an IR signal from the remote to the USB-URIT
2. use the middleware program to map the IR signal to the appropriate BTV keyboard command.
3. modify harmony profile to emulate the Hauppauge remote.
