Additional audio/video input to the PVR-500MCE.

Has anyone any guidance/comments on using the additional A/V input for the 500MCE?

If you hook a vcr up to record a taped show to mpeg, where in the manual is the reference to how to do this?

Also, has anyone attempted to use rca cables to hook into the additional A/V input with the souce being the cable box? Could you then manually record something coming from the cable box?

Roger

Re: Additional audio/video input to the PVR-500MCE.

I have done this... I'm not sure what specifically your question is though. Are you asking how to hook it up (physically)? How to record it?

Here is a quick answer:
Go to the setup wizard for beyond tv. Add a new chanel lineup. Add a channel (I used 0) and have the rca or svideo or whatever be the input (the default you probably used for your existing lineups was the analog cable tuner). Now channel 0 will be added and you can watch it on live tv or record from it like any other channel, and it will correspond to the rca/svideo input you associated it with.

By the way, what manuel are you talking about? My Beyond TV didn't come with any manuel... I had to figure all this stuff out from reading these discussions and trying things out...

"Are you asking how to hook it up (physically)? How to record it?"

I was wondering if I could run the cable box rca cables into the additional add in connector that is used for vcr's etc to copy tapes;then record via that connection on the channel that is being broadcast via the cable box. Do this as in copying a vcr tape and not use the tuner.
