HDTV and DirecTV capture.

We are finally taking the plunge and getting a plasma tv and upgrading our directv reciever so that it accpets HD. Before I go and buy a new reciever, are there ones that are "capture friendly" Maybe with firewire out, or other such methods? Exactly how does one use Directv, BTV and HDTV? What will I need, and what is the best stuff to get?
