2nd Tuner setup issues

Hi!! I have the Hauppaugge 500 dual tuner card and during the set up process the first tuner is recognized fine, but the second tuner comes up with the "failed to build live tv" error with no picture or sound.
Does anyone know any work around for this??

-Each tuner has it's own IRQ, there are no exclamtion marks or red X's in the device manager.

-I have basic cable coming from the wall and into the card. Running Windows 2000, P4 2.8, 512mb, ATI Radeon 8500LE.

-It took me 2 years to convince my wife to let me have a computer in the front room; I really need your help to make it work

Thank you!!!

Re: 2nd Tuner setup issues

When you say each tuner has it's own IRQ do you just mean different from each other? Check to see if the second tuner shares an IRQ with another piece of hardware that might be interfearing.

Each one has it's own IRQ and doesn't share with anything else.

And neither has a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager? I could not get the 500 to work in one of my computers -- no matter what I tried. Moved it to a different computer and it works flawlessly.

Re: 2nd Tuner setup issues

What kind of motherboard was the one that worked and what kind didn't? (chipset wise)

Re: 2nd Tuner setup issues

They were both Dells. The didn't work was a Dimension 4550 and the works is a Dimension 2400. No clue beyond the first was a P4-2.66 and the second a P4-2.8.

I can't believe how awful this is getting. Now I have a zoom issue and the video is all garbled on top of it. So now I can't even watch tv on the first Tuner. PHew!!

Re: 2nd Tuner setup issues

Okay, apparently the PVR-500 is basically two Tuner cards soldered together and one of them was defective. Sounds like this is a common problem with the PVR-500. Got a new one and everything works good.
I also upgraded to a 6600gt / agp card from my ATI 8500.
