ATI's Avivo hardware H.264 transcode assist w/BTV possible?

read on, http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=1622&page=3 , that the new X1x00 series suppose to have H.264 transcode assist in hardware. Will BTV support that one day? or is that only limited to ATI's own software?

I guess H.264 should be superior to WMV9 BTV supports...

If ATI has a codec that is available to the public you might be able to use it. But if they are trying to sell H.264 to developers than it's up to BTV to see if they want to buy it. Dolby is the same way, you have to license the technology (to enhance you produce.)
