Replace PVR-250 w/ PVR-500-MCE

Hi all,

I didn't see anything out there (maybe I didn't search good enough), but I'm seeing the nasty, washed out colors on the PVR-250 as well. Rather than doing anything to fix it, (since I want a dual-tuner setup anyway), I'm going to just replace it w/ a PVR-500-MCE.

My question is how difficult is this going to be to get SnapStream to take the change? Will I need to re-setup my recording schedules since it has the cable line-up tied to my now-existing tuner?

If anyone's done this before, I'd love to hear your two cents. I didn't have much fun writing down all of my Tivo season passes when I converted to BTV, and don't want to relive that excitement again! :-P

Thanks!!

Provided you keep the same cable lineup your just setting up a new capture device. To be on the safe side you could always backup your BTV config and also if you have enough PCI slots available add the 500 before removing the 250. In fact it might not be a bad idea to leave the 250 and set it up to be the last capture device used.

All you have to do is pop the new card in and run the setup wizard, then delete the old card and configure the inputs on the new one, since your using the same lineup your recording jobs wont get affected, they only get affected if you change the lineup
