Hard Disk Thrashing

I am experiencing hard disk thrashing under a couple of circumstances...

When a new recording starts, when existing a recording to the main menu, and when exiting live TV to the main menu.

Basically the viewscape will just lock up, the hard drive light goes solid, and it can be a minute or longer before the system responds the commands (usually a queue of them if my wife has been punching buttons trying to get it to do something...)

I have an Athalon 3200 64 bit, 250GB serial ATA drive, and 512mb of ram.

I have defragged the disk, doesn't seem to make a difference. So I am now wondering what the best option for fixing this will be...more RAM, or (and I do like the idea of it...) a striped raid array of two 250GB drives...

Oh yeah...I also have 2 Hauppauge USB2 encoders.

No ideas, but your not alone! I occasionaly see this when exiting from live tv back to the menu.

I did report it in one of the betas but I cant recreate this at will so its tricky to track down.
