black and white image with no audio

I recently installed the 3.5 trial on a Win2k machine (PVR150, ti4400 w/ VIVO, p4 1.6, 1gb ddr). All was well with testing on regular cable, but when I switched to digital cable occasionally the image would be zoomed in, black and white, and no audio. I reverted to the nvidia 53.03 drivers and updated the pvr drivers to the latest on the Hauppauge site, and now the screen no longer appears zoomed in but the black and white picture with no audio occurs frequently now, 75% of the time. I have the native and BeyondTV resolution set to 640x480.

It appears to have something to do with using the guide. If I am lucky and get Live TV to work, using the channel up and down button on the remote (Hauppauge) the problem does not occur, but if I use the guide to switch channels then everything goes in the crapper. Also I am unable to get the picture to appear behind the guide (not sure if the two are related).

Any help is appreciated, I realy want to get BeyondTV working. It appears to be the best fit for my family.
