No recording/No audio

I mentioned my problems with no audio being recorded in this thread and I still haven't been able to figure it out... The thing is, it works some of the time... After a fresh reboot both tuners (PVR-150s in 3.5.1) with record audio and video correctly, but at some point one will stop recording audio and eventually stop recording at all, leaving a title it said was recorded, but giving an error when you click to watch it...

Anyway, other system specs:
Athlon XP 2400+
768MB RAM
Geforce2 MX
Windows XP Home SP2

If anyone could help me I could really use some advice... My wife is upset and wants to pull one of the tuners, but I dont want to "solve" the problem that way... BTW, I'm using the latest drivers and codec off the Hauppauge website...

This problem really seems totally random, last night I rebooted and it didn't fix the problem, rebooted again and both tuners worked fine again... We'll see if what it recorded today has sound when I get home...

Those are older than what I got from Hauppauge... I guess I'll try a reformat this weekend and follow that thread step by step...

What's weird is that for the past day or so now everything has been working just fine...

You don't have to reformat to update the drivers. Just follow the steps very carefully. Also, there is a thread that seems to be related to your issue on shspvr.com where the last poster seems to have identified the issue as a conflict between the 150s and his sound card:

Not sure if this applies to you, but it may give you other ideas to try.

I had this same problem and it drove me insane. Someone else suggested it was a conflict with Soundblaster cards, so I uninstalled the sound card and reinstalled it, similar to the linked thread on shspvr, and it's been working fine for a week or so. Also, make sure that you do not have CTHELPER.exe running. You can remove it in the msconfig utility to prevent it from running on system bootup.

Still no go with this problem, tried different drivers and the sound card thing, nothing. It seems to just start and stop at random, I REALLY need some more help with this... Please???

It almost sounds like you have a weak signal. If you hook the cable going into your 150 directly into a TV, is the sound ok ? Do you have a problem on all channels or just specific channels ?

I'm sure it's not a signal problem, and nearly positive it's software related... It could be hardware, but why would it work on and off like it does if it was? It's almost like it forgets to record the audio... For the past few days now it's been fine, but I fully expect some muted episodes again soon...

Yep, all kinds of problems yesterday... Turns out the only reason I hadn't noticed a problem is because my wife has been rebooting the computer herself lately...

Well it seems 3.7.2 fixed this problem... Haven't had an issue since upgrading... Nothing in the release notes seems to mention anything related though... Oh well, I'm just happy the nightmare appears to be over...

You are making me really excited. God I hope the update works I have had the same problem and it is killing me. Did you have a N-force 2 board?
