Multi-tuner system - use both Hauppauge IR transmitter eyes?

Just added a tuner to make a multi-tuner system. The system has a PVR-250 (coaxil connects to cable signal) and PVR-150 (s-video connected to digital cable box) that I am having difficulty with the receiver and blaster. Should both cards have their respective IR receiver eyes connected or can I just use one receiver to control both cards with my remote? Thanks -

Jeremy

Not quite sure what you are asking, but I will give it a shot. If your PVR250 is connected directly to cable, then you don't need an IR blaster to change channels, BTV will change the channel for you. If the PVR150 is connected to a cable box, then you will need an IR blaster to control the cable box (or a serial connection if your cable box supports it). BTV will automatically switch between the 150 and 250 when you select a channel that is only on the cable box. Make sure that you have selected the proper channel lineups for each tuner during setup.

Re: Multi-tuner system - use both Hauppauge IR transmitter eyes?

Thanks for your reply. I understand how the blaster will work eith the cable and cable box. My question is really whether I should be using two ir receivers (i.e., this comes with both the 250 and 150 - not a blaster) or just one? Thanks again for your response -

Jeremy

So - are you using the hauppauge remote with BTV ? If so, I would think that you should only set up one IR receiver.

I have 2 PVR-250s installed and only use one IR receiver.

Re: Multi-tuner system - use both Hauppauge IR transmitter eyes?

Great. I am actually using a Harmony 688 remote that mimics the Hauppauge remote. Based on the responses, it appears I should only be using 1 IR receiver. Thanks!
