Show Squeeze copy feature not working

I am having trouble with BTV 3.5 using show squeeze to copy.
When I try to show squeeze through the guide I get no errors but nothing happens it just sits says cancel show squeeze but never copies. And nothing shows up in the log.
I try to show squeeze from the webadmin and get the following error.
"The Show Squeeze Job was not added successfully. Please verify a default quality exists. "
I checked the quality settings. Since it is on copy they are not listed. I even set it back to WMV and checked to make sure it was set. It is at Near VHS. Then I set it back to copy and that setting goes away.
I can move the files within the webadmin to the folder I want to (but that isn't an option in BTV itself just the webadmin). The correct folder is set up to copy to in the show squeeze settings.
I uninstalled and reinstalled BTV and reset everything up.
Anyone have any insights? I am not sure if it worked with 3.4 as I just started wanting to use this option.

after reading a few more threads.. 3.5 won't squeeze 3.4 files. but it works fine for 3.5 files. go figure.

I have this same issue with 3.5 files, any thoughts?

I have reinstalled BTV on a new system, the old system does showsqueeze copy just fine. Can't find any settings different???

I'm encountering the same problem. Upgraded to v3.5 last week. Just recorded a show in MPEG format. When I attempt a ShowSqueeze to WMV, it says: "The Show Squeeze Job was not added successfully. Please verify a default quality exists."

What's the problem?

Same problem here. I set my default showsqeeze to "copy" mode, but files added to the showsqeeze queue are always added as WMV jobs. When I try add jobs via the web admin library, I access the "show more options" settings of the showsqeeze screen and then select "copy" as the format, but I get the error message mentioned above. In fact, I get the message for WMV as well, but if I hide the extra options and just add a default job, it gets added successfully added as a WMV job, despite the fact that it should be added as a "copy" job.

Having problems with showsqueeze here too. I select "copy" and it compresses to wmv! Also having problem that pocketpc showsqueezes get cut to about 10 mins each. Using 3.5.1 on windowsxp.

Well,

Yesterday I messed around with the showsqueeze settings. I set the quality to "Auto". It made a manual showsqueeze into a wmv and copied it to the proper directory.

I then enabled auto showsqueeze and it properly copied the mpg2 file!

The wmv copy bug seems to exist on manual showsqueeze only.

Am still messing around with alternatives to wmv transcoding.

Still not working here. I wanted to use it for the automatic mpeg conversion for my Palm...I just upgraded to a PPC, so i dont need it, im using wmv now.

Still doesnt work though.

Had the same problem, I could not get show squeeze to work for a while. On the webinterface, I would get the following error message:
"The Show Squeeze Job was not added successfully. Please verify a default quality exists."
even though I had created the appropriate qualities. Eventually I found that if I disabled "Intelligent Quality Selection" show squeeze works as expected.
