Video Quality is horrible in v3.5 (near VHS)

I am using an ATI PCI Tuner card (no hardware encoding) and use wmv format. I usually encode using Windows Media Format and Near VHS quality which is fine for me. Actually, on a laptop Near VHS looked great using v3.4.
When I upgraded from v3.4 to v3.5 the Near VHS quality is horrible. Anyone else encoder this issue?

Thanks.

Is the size of the video file (in megabytes) near what you would normally expect it to be?

I don't keep track of the size of the files usually so I couldn't tell you. But live TV is also terrible quality through webadmin.

Re: Video Quality is horrible in v3.5 (near VHS)

There was a problem in the Beta where WMV quality levels were being incorreclty set. From my bug log:

"Other information: When recording at Better (as shown in the log) the final file for a 30min show turns out to be 43Mb. Looks like the whole show is there, just at extremely low quality. The Web GUI says that for the selected quality level I should be seeing ~850Mb/hr. Reverting to 3.4 I see recordings at this quality level work fine. Good and Fair exhibit similar low recording quality results. This has been consistent across all 3.5 beta releases. NearDVD quality level setting seems to record at the correct quality level."

Better, Good, Fair were all dorked up, NearDVD was fine. Mpeg recordings did not seem to have this issue. Check your file size (as previously suggested), it's right in the show properties now, to see if the file is way to small. Switch to mpeg as a workaround.
