Installing PVR-250 Retail - Problem

Hi folks,

I got tired of my ATI AIW card so went out and bought a Hauppage pvr-250. I'm attempting to install it on a brand new system (Dell PowerEdge 400SC) with a fresh install of Windows XP Pro.

The CD that came with the pvr-250 is labeled ver. 1.8a

Install the card in the 2nd PCI slot. Power up. XP detects a new Multimedia Controller. I select the location of the driver on the CD-ROM. Everything looks good while installing until it is finishing up (hcwutl32.dll) and then the system reboots on me. I thought it was a problem with permissions on the ENUM/PCI registry key so I followed instructions from Hauppage to make changes in regedit to that key. tried again to install drivers and just can't get the darn thing to work.

Anyone have a Dell PowerEdge 400SC server? Running a pvr-250? Please let me know if you had any issues with your install or how I might be able to fix my problem!

I reformatted the drive and installed Windows 2000 Pro. Managed to get the pvr-250 working . Still not sure why it wouldn't work with XP Pro but I can live with 2000 Pro.

If anyone does have a Dell PowerEdge 400SC Server and it is running XP Pro with a pvr-250 I would be very interested in how you got it to work.
