Streaming to PC's and appliances
Has anyone figured out how to stream from BTV to PC's and to embedded appliances?
I want to record in WMV (rather than MPEG2) so I can immediately stream shows to our laptops around the house without transcoding, and because WMVs are smaller than MPEG2s. But, the ~$100 appliances like the MediaMVP and Prismiq, among others, do not support WMV playback. So, how do I record my shows for streaming over a LAN to both PC's and these appliances? I know I could record in MPEG2 so its playable on the appliances, and then just download shows to the PC for local playback....but who wants to wait for that to complete? Thanks....
