The SS encode invalid wmv file

My SS would produce invalid wmv file format but with correct file size (I guess). Is it the problem of the encoder (v7.1 / v8).

Here is my system config.
Win2000 SP2 VIA KT133A DX8.0a
PCTV BT848 PCI
Pinnacle WDM beta driver
Creative TNT2 w/ newest dirver

My SS config is like this.
Interface: Direct Show
Video Input: Video Tuner
Tuner Interface : Direct Show

When I use this setting , the file is invalid, but I am quite sure that it capture something as the tuner work correctly and I can listen to the sound of that channel.

If I use Windows Media Encoder 7.1, I can capture the screen but the tuner doesn't work anymore, could anyone please help?
