unable to delete shows....

before yesterday, everything worked fine with deleting shows...now this happens:

- goto 'recorded shows'
- open the show i want to delete
- select 'delete'
- confirmation dialog 'are you sure you want to delete this show' pops up
- can't move the selection to yes, can't click on either option, yes or no....all i can do is press 'back' on the remote or 'escape' on the keyboard and go back to the show screen, but the show is still there and not deleted.

any ideas?

Are you able to delete them from explorer manually?

Hello.

This happened to me too, last week. I am using BTV 3.4 Build 899. Rebooting my computer made the problem go away and I haven't seen it since.

Exiting & restarting the FSGUI was not sufficient to make the problem go away.

Also, yes, while the problem was still happening, I could delete using Windows Explorer.

Don't know if this is related or not but I had problems deleting certain shows I while back (on build 899). I could confirm "yes" when deleting shows, and they are removed from the recorded shows list. However, after exiting and then re-entering the recorded shows list the recording would still be there!

My impression - and I'm not sure - was that there are problems deleting shows that are in the process of being showsqueezed or smart-chaptered. The FSUI always allowed me to delete, but often failed to fulfil its promise!!

On a few occasions I found xml files lying around in my recordings folder for shows that I had deleted. Does BTV clean up after itself properly? Could this be related to this problem?

This was on the agenda, and I think taken care of. I just checked and my XMLs are deleted if the show is automatically deleted or if I delete it myself.

You could have trailing XMLs if you delete the show from explorer. Also you should never delete a file I don't think that is current being showsqueezed or chapter generating, just stop the job and then delete it.
