canada.snapstream.net
Hi. I've been using BTV 3.3 & 3.4 for several months without any major problems. The usual database corruptions and channel loss things that seem to happen off and on, but mostly its been pretty good.
Now I have a problem with the EPG data. At first, I assumed it was the old "corrupt database" problem. However, a clean db didn't fix the problem. Running the setup wizard provided me with the error "Unable to detect a valid internet connection". I have a valid connection on the box, and can even reach snapstream.net in my browser. I tried re-installing, but clean installs die as well. The log file indicates a failure to connect to Snapstream. Looking through my log files, I see that the URL is set to canada.snapstream.net. However, that DNS no longer resolves. Bummer. I'm thinking that if I pick US as my country I'll be able to connect, but then I won't have listings. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks very much Kevin |

There's a file on your system called PVSURL.ini (or something similar).
In that file you will notice the canada.snapstream.net in a few places. Just do a search and replace it with www.snapstream.net The canada DNS was only there for test purposes. |
