Playing recorded programs over LAN?

Can somebody please give me a simple "how to" on playing .wmv files from one my snapstream PC to another PC on my LAN.

I think I have everything set up correctly - I can login to the snapstream server web interface and I can see the program I want to watch. However, when I click play, I get a "the media is invalid" error.

I can browse to the file in Media player (both 7 and 6.4) and it plays fine. Also I can watch the file locally from the snapstream interface.

Obviously I am doing something wrong, but I am puzzled as to what. Maybe its me, but there doesnt appear much documentation on this subject.

Many thanks

If you're using media player 7, try this: right click on the watch icon for your show, then save it on your desktop or wherever but change the extension to .asx instead of .asf. Now open the file and it should connect. They need to get this fixed, in my opinion, or have separate watch icons for media player 6 or 7.

Do you have Windows Player 7.0 or 7.1 ? Try updating to 7.1 and see if that resolves your problem...also, if 7.0 is your default player, try running mplayer2.exe from start->run and choose view->option->formats->select all->apply->Ok...this will set 6.4 as your default browser...do the same with 7.1 to make 7.1 your default browser again

Using WMP 7.01 and WMP 6.4 - both exhibit the similar problems.

The right click will work over LAN I guess as I can download the file quickly, however this becomes a problem if I want to stream via the net.

Any other suggestions?
