One specific episode of a series will not record.

I have a show (Disney's Kim Possible) set to record EPG First run for my kids. In Friday's episode (1/30/04 5:00 pm, Go team Go) the time was off a bit, and the recording stopped before the show finished. The episode was repeated at 11:00 PM so I clicked on that to Record Once (after re-entering a 2 minute show padding), got the pop-up for submitted successful. But the show didn't record.

So I found the next time that episode is on 5:00PM 2/7/04, and payed closer attention. When I clicked Record Once, and got submitted successfully, the Recording Manger shows that the show is set to record at the specified date/time. But when I click the Upcoming Recordings tab, it is not listed there. So I tried the 11:00pm 2/7/04 showing and got the same results. Both are listed in Recording Manager but neither are listed in Upcoming Recordings.

To test if it's the show, I selected another episode of Kim Possible today, and clicked the Record once. It shows in both lists correctly. To test the date/channel I selected the show on just after Kim Possible on Disney and it show properly in both lists as well.

I then deleted the record once attempts, rebooted my computer, restarted BTV, and repeated the above steps again, and still received the same results.

So any idea's as to what could be causing me not to be able to record that one specific episode, no matter what day it is on?

Running BT 3.4 build 899. Using Web Admin for all above commands, but tried to schedule through Windowed interface with the same results.

Figured it out, partially

As soon as I removed the first recording from the Hard Drive, the record once attempts appeared on the Upcoming Recordings page.

So if an episode is recorded, you can't record it again? Is this a bug or a feature?

BTV will not record a show twice -- delete the original recording and it will record it again

Unless you're an XMLTV user in which case it will happily fill up your hard drive recording those repeats. Maybe it's because I have to use 'Record All' rather than 'Record New'. How do 'new' shows get flagged in the EPG?

Re: One specific episode of a series will not record.

I have a simular question.. I select a show to record (click on 'record all new episodes') and the snapstream.net response window say:

This is the list of generated jobs and their status:
Job (show to be recorded)
Repeat: Once
Status: Success

yet, the lower window states: No recordings:

"There were no recordings generated. You may need to download program information from SnapStream.Net."

When I go back to Recording Manager, it shows the Title, Air Time and Repeat (EPGOnce)
data, as if it's ready to record, but in the 'Upcoming Recordings' tab, nothing shows..

But I have all the access I need from SnapStream.net, including current and future shows up to two weeks in advance. I'm running dsl, 24/7, no interruption of connection. ???

Re: One specific episode of a series will not record.

You may be past this point, but...

Make sure that you've tried to manually download your program guide to your local machine, and that you're not just looking at Snapstream.net's online guide.

My 3.4.4 stopped automatically downloading updates recently and I had the same problem you decscibe until I manually updated the guide.

I'm not at home at the moment, but from the web interface, go to configure>Snapstream.net settings> (and click) Download Program Guide Information

Wait a few minutes and see if the recording jobs get added when the program guide finishes downloading to your pc.

It worked for me...

Re: One specific episode of a series will not record.

Another issue to watch for (which does not seem to be the case here) is the priority of the shows, which can be set in the FSUI. If another show has higher priority, it will take precedence over lower-priority shows.
