Question enabling dma?? pvr250 card to capture from camcorder?

I am very pleased with my prv 250/btv so far. It is an awesome program but I still have things I want to do but can't figure it out yet. I am running 2000 pro. p4 2.53 1 gig ddr2700.

1. a lot of web sites say to improve performance you should enable dma. when I get to the device manager and click on the controllers there is no advanced tab. how can I check and see if it is enabled?

2. I want to capture analog camcorder tapes to the harddrive and edit them. I have ran it through a vcr and recorded it on channel 3 as a program but it stops when the program ends, even though the basketball game (tape) may not be over yet. I have showbiz which I would like to be able to capture to but it shows the pvr250 as a capture device but when I try to capture I get an error message. I like the showbiz program and editing features as compared to movie factory 2.0. any suggestions?

1) check the manufacturer of the motherboard for a chipset driver you will have to get an updated chipset driver to get dma support for your board.

2) you should use the manual record feature in the web admin on the recording screen to start the recording then you can either press stop while watching the recording or use the web admin to stop it again.

Send a message via ICQ to SHS
Why just use WinTV2000 for manual record
