Unhappy Cannot view Live TV over the Net

I am using a router at home where I can view both recordings and live TV on all computers. I have opened ports 1755, 8080, 8129 on my router.

Over the the net I can connect ok via http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8129 and
have no problem viewing my recordings, scheduling recordings, deleting them but I cannot watch them or live TV. I can download the mpeg recordings (yes I know I can't stream them) but it takes forever so thats not an option.

When I click on live tv it says connecting to media and 30 seconds or so later it then says ready. Screen remains black.

When I try and watch a recording, the media box comes up and displays the name of the recording and just stays black.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Craig

ports 8080 and 1755 are standard service ports and may be blocked by your ISP or filtered by whereever you are connecting from, you should try changing them to something near 8129 and see if that helps any, you can change the streaming and livetv server ports in webadmin under the streaming config. Also make sure FORCE TCP is enabled and that you are forwarding on those ports using TCP not UDP

My ISP blocked all non-esesntial ports, and then had the nerve to consider this a nocost additional "service", which they refused to unblock on a dynamic ip address. However, if I upgraded to the static ip address it avoided their firewall, I did this and all was well.

If you are still having problems and other ports are not working, and you are using a dynamic ip address, I would suggest calling your ISP and asking if they can bypass the firewall or such.
