This forum is for getting assistance from users of BeyondTV. This is *NOT* the place to go for official support:

Also before you do post a problem or go to tech support:
Visit the windows update website and INSTALL the updates listed under both the critical update section and the windows 2000/XP listing in the tree on the left side of the page, an upto date system is 99% less likely to have issues than a system with no updates and you are more than likely going to end up installing the updates working with tech support. (plus its just good security practices to keep windows upto date) If yo are receiving MDAC, ADO, MSDART, or any other database related messages: - Shutdown BTV/PVS and exit the tray icon - Perform a FULL unintstall using the add/remove wizard - Visit the following site and download the MSDAC update: MDAC Update (microsoft.com) - Visit the following site and download the MSJET update: MS JET (microsoft.com) - Visit the following site and download the .net framework 1.1: .Net Framework (microsoft.com) - Reboot the system into safe mode and logon as the Administrator account (not simply as an account with admin priveleges) then Install all 3 of the above components and reboot the machine - Start up the setup program for beyondtv and make note of any errors, if you get an error during install visit the tech support page and submit a ticket with the exact error message you get - If you still do not have data in your guide or there is still an error message contact tech support and they will work out how to fix the issue. if you are getting any XSLT messages in the logs and you did an upgrade from 3.x to 3.4 then open the following folder: c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\snapstream\personal video station\ and right click -> copy the XSLT folder, now shutdown BTV if it is running and exit the tray icon, then open the following folder: c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\snapstream\beyond tv then edit -> paste if it asks to overwrite files say yes, then restart btv and have it do a guide update. If you are having studdering issues, make sure that you are using the latest drivers for your capture card, that you have directx9.0b and windows media player 9 installed, if you are using a chip under 1.2Ghz without a 3rd party decoder you should definately think about using the nvdvd or ati decoder otherwise you may end up maxing out the cpu: http://www.snapstream.com/Community/Articles/decoders (note preferred decoder settings: webadmin->config->advanced->player settings) you should also run a disk check (chkdsk.exe /f c: ) and defrag the disk (dfrg.msc). If this does not fix the issue submit a tech support ticket. If you are getting mpeg demux or connect error messages, try doing: shutdown btv and exit the tray icon regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax try again, if it doesnt work then there is something on the system, either software, or some other mpeg decoder that isnt working/playing well with the default mpeg decoders, and as a result has damaged the mpeg drivers and the only good recorse in this problem is to reinstall windows. the majority of the issues are from unclean/unpatched systems, if you can format the machine then by all means please do (or atleast attempt it) it is much easier to debug problems on a clean system than it is on a system that has years+ worth of software and other junk on it. (not to offend those have systems that havent been cleaned up/formatted, its just that Im so used to reformatting every 5 months to keep system running at optimum) I cant think of any of the other "issues" people are having with btv 3.4 maybe I'll update this listing a little later if I can think of anything. But basically, make sure the system is updated, if it isnt try that first, if you cant figure it out, or the log doesnt say something is blatantly wrong check the forums and by all means ask, but dont expect to get your problem solved in here, this forum is entirely USER based help (mostly by me, but there are others ), if you want actual support from Snapstream then you MUST fill out a tech support ticket, also there is a bug with the tech support form and if by some reason (and it is only a small one from what I understand) your key doesnt get recognised make sure to tell the form that so it does get noted and fixed.
