v3 Frame Rate issues

I just upgraded to v3.3, and have noticed some differences between recordings made on v2 and those on v3. For both, I record at "Near DVD" quality, straight-forward WMV files, not DiVX or anything that I'm aware of :-)

A typical hour long show recorded on v2 is about 1GB, while a one hour show recorded on v3 is only 850MB - the difference is very noticable when watching a show on a television. This is just straight-f

Playback rate is also different between the two, Windows Media Player says that a v2 show is playing at 2216Kb/s, while a v3 show is 2289Kb/s (both are played using the same computer, so this would not be a WMP issue).

Is "Near DVD" different between v2 and v3.3? If so, what needs to be changed in v3.3 to make it's Near DVD as good as v2's? I don't mind the larger files..

Thanks
