added a PVR-250, remote control setup?

I finally got my PVR-250 added. I ran the install and then re-ran the SnapStream Setup Wiz. And it worked! (As everyone says, great picture!)

But, The remote that came with the PVR-250 does not work. I noticed that the ini file for it does not have the SnapStream entries in it.

Is there any way to get this recognized and set up without re-installing the snapstream software?

By the way, the Gyration mini wireless keyboard and mouse is great if your system is a TV only livingroom type installation.

yep just add the following line under the [Applications] section:

Personal Video Station=

then add the following to the bottom of the file, save it then restart the ir application:

Note: any time you re-install the ir software it will overwrite the file so you should make a backup somewhere

What am i missing?

OK im kinda confused.. i got the pvr250 package with snap stream software package the other day. It came with a remote and a ir line that plugs into the back of the pvr250 card. Now what do i need to get PVS to change the channel on my digital cable box? Do i need a seperate IR blaster? like My Blaster? and if so.. will this work with the remote that came with the pvr250?

the cable that comes with the pvr is only an ir receiver, and the pvr's receiver will only work with the pvr remote (or the original black hauppauge remote)

To control a cable box you would need an irblaster device and if it is one of the 2 directly usable with snapstream (ir200l/uirt) then configure it with the snapstream wizard otherwise you would have to use girder/he remote and set it up according to their instructions.
