Aspect Ratio Question

I use BM for the movies plugin and I used to be able to flip between letterbox, full, 4:3, 16:9, stretch and eventually one of them would fill my tv, I did a clean install with vista and I have lost that ability. I now get boxes on the top and bottom.

I have a 16:9 50" Plasma running at 1024x768 resolution ( I have tried other resolutions it did not help)

Someone in the BTV forum mentioned the use of non-squared pixel compenstation but I don't see that feature in BM.

Any idea why I lost the ability to fill my screen?

thanks

Re: Aspect Ratio Question

I might be wrong, but I don't think there is a 50 in plasma with a native resolution of 1024x768. Which TV is it? Which video card in your PC?

Re: Aspect Ratio Question

The plasma is actually at that resolution. It is 6+years old and is a 50" monitor. I'm not at home but I think it is a 8900 GT or so.

Re: Aspect Ratio Question

Sorry, I thought the biggest 1024x768 plasma was 42 in but I checked with google and found I am wrong. I don't use BM or Vista but have no problems with my 1024x768 plasma, BTV and XP. It sounds like BM used to work for you with XP but Vista broke it, is that correct? are you using vga?

Re: Aspect Ratio Question

It seems like vista broke it. I am using a vga cable. I used to be able to use my spdif speakers as well but lost that too with vista.... But that is not BM specific, I can't get spdif to work at all with vista.
