No HUD in BM

I am somewhat new to the world of the HTPC, but have been tinkering for many many months and finally taking the plunge to a dedicated box about a month ago. I couldn't be happier. Well, yes I could... if I could get this problem resolved!

Up until about two weeks ago, things couldn't be better with my setup. I am running both BM and BTV, recording shows, watching movies and the family is happy. (more importantly, the WIFE is happy!)

For no (seemingly) reason, the HUD in BM suddenly stopped acting nicely. If I play a video from either the VIDEOS folder or the "DVD LIBRARY" plugin (which is FANTASTIC, btw - kudos to the developer of THAT one), the video plays fine, however there is no HUD when I change volume, ff/rw, etc, even though the video responds accordingly (volume changes, video forwards or rewinds...). I am using the FIREFLY remote with LM Gestion keymapping.

The only workaround that I have found is to use the "maximize" button on the remote to "un-maximize" (or restore) the window size to take it OFF of full-screen, then "re-maximize" it. The HUD will then stay for the remainder of the video.

If I move away from the video, say back to the main menu, and then go back STRAIGHT to the same function that I was just in, the HUD will stick around. If I go into the WEATHER, BEYONDTV, or any other function and go back, the HUD is gone and I need to "un-maximize" and "re-maximize".

I have been messing around quite a bit with many of the BM plugins found on here, so could one of those possibly have screwed things up?

Has anyone had this issue before and could possibly help me out?

I can't seem to find any other posts that can point me in the right direction, but if there are, I will most gladly read.

Thanks!

Re: No HUD in BM

Go into Settings, General Settings and see if Disk Cache is turned on.
If it is turned on, turn it off. (Make sure to exit BM and restart after) It causes problems with the HUD. (among other things)

Ossseous - THANKS! Disk Caching was turned on - turned it off (no need for it with 1.5 GB RAM ) and the HUD with sliders and all are back no matter what I do or where I go.

Much appreciated! The WAF (wife acceptance factor) is back up again now that we can all see how much time's left in a show or movie!

Re: No HUD in BM

THANK YOU!

I just installed the trial and thought it was weird that there was no HUD for the DVD library. Made the change and now I see it.

I wonder why the HUD looks different than BTV? I am running the BTV skin, i just assumed the HUD would be the same.

Also any news when BM might be part of BTV?

I really hate to pay $50 for BM just so I can see the weather and use the DVD library.
