Re: vista with bm

Put BM out to pasture!

Have you considered the open source project Media Portal?

Re: vista with bm

That's one of the resons I'm not touching vista for atleast another year. I have lots of good software that I paid for and will continue to use until MS drops support for Xp. I have the best of both worlds without spending a crap load of cash for a shotup OS. XP + BM + BTV = No BS. My setup works flawless scence i got rid of the FF and a bad FusionHDTV5 RT Lite card.

Re: vista with bm

submit a ticket and see what snapstream says (make sure you mention you have been through all the steps as they are laid out in the page i linked to. if you don't they will send you to that page to do this again before going to the next step.) if you didn't install exactly the way that page says you might want to try that since i don't know if having bm installed before patching makes any difference.

Re: vista with bm

i actually had the EXACT same problem before in vista.. never figured out what was going on..

HOWEVER, i did a fresh install of vista and removed my xp/vista dual boot and it is now working.. not sure if the dual boot had anything to do with it.. but that seems to be the common thread here.

the only other difference from my initial install to my fresh install was that I upgraded from vista business to vista ultimate.

again.. not sure if it is even related.. but its working now!

Re: vista with bm

I was getting error in BM on Vista Ultimate too. I tried everything and still couldn't get it to work. Last night I discovered if I ran the program in compatibility mode (XP SP2) the error went away. I am also running all Snapstream programs as administrator.
I tried MediaCenter, but couldn't get IR blaster to work. I also loaded about 300 ablums and was getting lag during music playback due to low cpu resources when searching thorough cover art. Was thinking about upgrading to dual core cpu which would also give me Intel's VIIV for what's that's worth (MB supports it). I am running Core Solo now. I like both systems, but Vista's MediaCenter has a better look to it. It will probably come down to if a small laptop Dual Core 2 (1.66) can run Media Center, whether VIIV will offer and perks under Vista, and most importantly being able to change channels on my Sat box (which BTV does nicely).
