Most ripping programs have a setting that allows you to capture 1 big VOB file. rather than split it into 1 GB chunks. This is useful if you want to play it on some media players and also for converting to divx etc without loading multiple VOB files. You have to make sure that your drive is formatted as NTSF because FAT32 has a 2 GB file size limit. BB

Re: Multiple VOBs combining into one file???
I do this all the time, but I use VideoRedo Plus. It is not expensive and will handle a varity of file formats including TIVO files. As others have said though, do not create one big vob file. If you want to combine then recode to a mpeg or divx style format.

Re: Multiple VOBs combining into one file???
The reason the VOBs are 1GB or smaller almost always is for DVD players. If you try to burn the large VOB to standard VOB format later it will have to be converted/split again.

Re: Multiple VOBs combining into one file???
The poster did not say why he wanted to have 1 big VOB file, he only asked how to do it. Probably it is time to ask, Why do you want only 1 large VOB file?

Re: Multiple VOBs combining into one file???
well I use BM DVD library and I have found that it is much easier to store them as 1 file. I have never actually reburned on as I own all my DVDs. I have the Godfather box set and the second movies is 2 DVDs I want to combine my 2 VOBs in order to make it seamless for it to play from one Disk to the next.
Thank for the info I didnt know that they could not be burned back to DVDs if they were ripped as 1 file. Why is this? and how do you point powerDVD throught BM DVD library to play a multifile VOB so it will go from the first one to the next.... I only have 70DVDs ripped right now, 50 are sinle VOBs 4 as ISOs and 16 are dvix rips. I like the VOBs b/c they are great quality and smaller than a full ISO.... I have seen in the windows RUN command the ability to combine VOBs. I cannot find the post for it but when i do i will post a link

Re: Multiple VOBs combining into one file???
I got it
Start, Run, Cmd (this opens a DOS window) cd \Videofiles ("Videofiles" is the folder where Decrypter saved your VOB files) copy /b vts_01_1.vob + vts_01_2.vob + vts_01_3.vob + vts_01_4.vob new.vob new.vob is now 1 VOB file of the movie. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/440799
