Finding photos on a remote computer?

Long time BTV user, first-time BeyondMedia user. Just downloaded the trial as the current software I'm using, myHTPC, is starting to look old.

My photos and music are all stored on a remote computer to the HTPC, on the same network. With myHTPC I just pointed it to a UNC filepath of where the photos and music are. But in the configuration setup wizard screens for BM, it only displayed my C: and D: drives, and I could figure out no way to get anywhere else!!?

Is there a way to do this? Surely I don't have to have ALL media files present on the BM machine, right?

There are two ways. Set up mapped drives to the shared folders on the PC where BM is running (not the best option, but it will work). Or, add unc paths manually to the BeyondMediaSettings.xml file. Take a look at post #8 in this thread:

I'm not at home, so I don't know the exact property, but I would guess photodirectories or something like that would be used instead of the examples in that post.
