I'll take a look at the skin issue. I've only been developing plugins based on the BlueWave screen and haven't tested compatibility with others so thanks for the heads up. Also, this isn't anywhere near a final version. It's more of a "proof of concept" version and next on my list is to make a much nicer interface with the channel names, descriptions and logos. Just bear with me and the holidays!!

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

This is a great plugin. Would love to be able to filter the channels shown to those I listen to regularly (even better would be filter sets, which would be handy for current Xmas programming).

Thanks for the plugin,

Lary

There's a free regular account that comes with every subscription, but imho it would only be worth it if you used the premium, cd-quality stream that costs $4.95 / month (*I Think*).

This topic has come up many times before, and it really would be interesting to be able to use BM and FireFlyto control Sirius channels, but not at the cost of decent sound quality. BTW for those who DO have Sirius, I *HIGHLY* reccomend the Sirius Conductor for home theater use. Sure, it doesn't output artist / title / song info onscreen, but that would be easy enough to do by screenscraping one of several sites out there. And it's right there on the remote anyway Also, the remote supports (2) different zones for whole - house Sirius goodness.

A commercial for Sirius radio in the XM thread? Loads of irony here. It's supposed to be commerical free radio!

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

Love this plug in.

but, I noticed that a system beep (beyondmedia sound) occurs seemingly at random ever 10-15 seconds.

Turning off the BM sound effects removes the problem.

It seemed to me that each time a station ID updated, a beep occurred.

Any solutions to this?

Thanks for this wonderful plugin.

cheers.

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

I'll check it out. It may be related to the update since the screen updates every 10 seconds. Can you maybe check your BM log file to see if there is anything being reported there for the XM plugin? I may have sounds turned off on my BM dev station so I have to double check that! Thanks for the info.

lol. Not meant to be a commercial by ant means. If I only had a "1" in my post count, I could see your point. My point was that this could be a viable option for those of us Sirius users as a way to help integrate with our Media Center boxes.

Now, as to the part about discussing Sirius in an XM thread, you definately have me there

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

If you have Direct TV, you get all the online XM channels free. You can record whatever they offer.

What is needed is a way to plug in an XM or Sirius receiver(I have XM Tao) and program record on the news, sport, and talk channels....now that I'll pay for!

I think you would need something like TimeTrax and use the output to display to the 10 ft interface of the plugin if you were going this route. I thought of this a few times, but since have abandoned aspirations of programming.

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

Another vote for a Sirius plugin here! I just came into this forum crossing my fingers that there was a Sirius plugin available that I never noticed, since I didn't have it. But I was a good boy for Christmas... Oh well....someone's gotta do it!

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

This is so much better than the XMRadio link I used to use with BM. Congrats. It would more to my liking to see the channel name instead of whatever is in the right most column.

Another vote for a Sirius Plugin here. That would probably complete the items I would want from my HTPC.

My old Gen One Sony XM radio had a USB port on the back. I imagine that it was only for diagnistics.

Re: [plugin] XM Radio

re: regarding a sirius plugin. I asked Sirius if there was anything coming up for MCE as far as a plugin and this is what I received back...

Although Microsoft Media Center already has a plug in for our
competitor, there is not currently a plug in for SIRIUS Satellite Radio. Microsoft should quickly put a deal together with us for the creation of such a plugin, so keep posted for updates concerning its arrival.

So it looks like if Microsoft can come up with something, getting something for other Media Center software might not be that far off as well. At least one could hope...
