Re: [plugin] CBS News Clips

I plan on having a much improved version submitted on Monday. I loaded this on my main TV and the little view for the videos was terrible so the new one will have the video fit the screen. I've got it responding to the Esc key appropriately and either tomorrow or Monday will work on getting it to reguarly update the list of clips. I, also, want the text more readable from the couch.

I thought downloading would take too much time and space so I went for the streaming approach.

Re: [plugin] CBS News Clips

I just submitted version 0.9.2 which Should be good for regular use. It will refresh the stories every 30 minutes adding new videos that show up. After spending 2 hours watching clip after clip on my TV, I think it is in good shape. Let me know what you think after this gets updated.

Would it be difficult to dim or change the color of already viewed clips?

I'll see what I can do. It will likely involve cookies since I had to use web pages for the list of clips. It will likely take me a week or so to get it done.

Re: [plugin] CBS News Clips (September 24 Update)

um. an easy fix I'll get in when I can is to have new stories show up at the top of the page and not the bottom. Just a matter of doing a moonwalk through the list of stories.

Re: [plugin] CBS News Clips (September 24 Update)

Just tried this and it is really great. This is the sort of thing that BM should be doing. I hope this is a trend for new plugins. I've used blogexplorer, but it's sort of an orphan. and is rather limited. A good RSS reader would be a welcome new plug in, along with an improved NPR plugin to get the audio postings. Someone was able to make the WMC plugin for NPR work with spotlight sort of, but I never got it to work reliably.

New version 1.0 has this in.

I also reversed the order of listing the videos to put the newer videos at the top.

Re: [plugin] CBS News Clips (September 29 Update)

This is fantastic! I'm so pleased to see there are still generous individuals out there making this tool better for all of us!

As a matter of fact, if you'll build a site with a PayPal donation icon I'll send you a few bucks for your time, and I'm sure others will as well. I'm all for anything that promotes new functionality for BM!
