Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

jpirotte,

I tried looking into this bug, but cannot reproduce it... I do get a game showing up twice, but the NWE game is showing for me.... it's likely that the espn site I use was not showing that game for whatever reason.

Can you have a look and see if you can see the pats game for this week, please?

Thanks.

Geoff

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

I have the duplicate games listed and also am experiencing missing games. I have noticed the last 2 weeks which is how long I have been using this mod.

It's a great mod. Keep up the good work on it!

I have not had an issue with this plug-in. It has work since I first tried it a month or so ago.

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

OK, I'll look into it some more... about 10 minutes after you posted, I went and checked the espn wml site and the Monday game was there. I assume that you were missing the Monday game, too, blitz17?

With the site properly showing a monday game, I have yet to reproduce the bug of the game not showing. So, I'm still trying to narrow down what is causing this problem.

As for the duplicates, I will fix try to fix that as well, but it's less concerning than a missing game.

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

I will look closer at it this weekend as I track my FF and weekly picks and post my results. I know when I was scrolling down the scores a game or 2 seemed to be missing.

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

Hi,

just downloaded and installed this plugin, isn't working for me. All I can see is week 9... clicking the arrow to go to a previous week doesn't do anything. Clicking on standings doesn't do anything either. I went to the ESPN mobile site and verified I could see this information in a web browser. Is there something I missed in installing the plugin? I downloaded ver 1.2 and double clicked on it to install (with BM closed).

Thanks for the help...

David

Update: It's now sunday... went back to see if this is working for me. I can see the scores of the different games. Clicking on the standings icon still isn't working. Clicking on the arrow icons to move back a week is also not working. Clicking on one of the games I see: game details; Leaders and preview. The recap is not showing anything ( I'm assuming that this will not populate until the game ends).

On the main page I also see two listings for the following game: IND vs. NWE Both are listed as a 8:25 start time...

Update (11/21/06) - Tried this plugin again (this past Sunday)... at the time I was using my mini firefly remote and everything worked. I could see everything including the previous weeks scores, stats and such. I then tried the same thing with my mouse and, guess what, I couldn't get the previous weeks to show. I don't know if anyone else is having this issue but for me, using the remote is the only way I can fully access all of this plugin...

Just in case anyone is interested.......

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

Hey jcherokee,

Sorry I missed your post... don't know how that happened. I never bothered putting in the mouse events for the plugin so it's just keyboard or remote control inputing keyboard events. That explains what you were seeing.

Hope it's working ok for you now.

Geoff

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

Geoff,

thanks for the reply... as long as I keep my hands of my "mouse", it works great!

My wife likes it 'cause she can get a quick update on her San Diego Chargers without pulling out her laptop (we reciently moved from California to Texas - she is a life long Chargers Fan!)

Great plugin! Thanks for your hard work making this for all of us to enjoy.

My wife is a baseball nut, when she saw it, she said she'd kill for a MLB version of this. Any chance you might be doing something like that?

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

Thanks for the positive feedback, jmvaughn. I'm not going to be doing a mlb version, though. Simply put, I don't like baseball... seems like a silly reason, but when it's a spare time project, it's enough. Sorry 'bout that. I'd more than happy to walk you through the source code if you're interested in tackling this on your own.

Cheers.

Geoff

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

That's not a silly reason at all, I certainly understand.

I've never done a plugin for BM before, and don't really know what's involved. However, I have done some fairly extensive programming over the years, so perhaps I could give it a go.

Would you care to zip up the source and send it over to me? Perhaps by looking it over and reading through the resources available in this forum I can figure it out.

My direct e-mail is: john -at- sunlitgames -dot- net.

Thanks,
John.

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

Some day when Beyond Media Plugins integrate with BTV There are now NFL RSS Feeds both text and video that would be a nice addition to this plugin.

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

ya, they look interesting after looking at them for a whole 3 minutes... but I'm not sure if the scores on this interface will be real-time or not... I know the espn scores are for sure... within a minute of a score, the website is updated, usually.

Re: [plugin] NFLScores [September 21 Update]

I updated the plugin to fix the week number issue. The version I posted a few days ago to the SSDN has not made it's way here yet so I'll post it in the forum until they get a chance to update this.

I had to rename the file as .zip. When you download it, rename the file to have an extension of .bmplugin.

Cheers.
