CLICK HERE FOR THE BEYOND TV 4 VERSION OF THIS SKIN

Author: Draven
Short Description: BM Skin
Long Description: This is a BM skin featuring reflective glass highlights and a brushed metal background
Version Number: 1.2
Status: Updated
Last Updated: 1/28/2008
Homepage:
Installation Instructions: This version has been packed into an installer, so if you have v1.0 installed, you'll need to manualy delete it from: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond Media\Skins make sure to also delete the XML file. THen simply open the installer and let it do the work
Release Notes: This version has Icons included for almost all plugins. Rather than moving and renaming images every time you want to change skins, open the icon instructions file I've attached and follow the directions to edit the Plugin.xml file for each plugin you have. Once this is done, you will be able to change between all of my skins (if you have updated them all) without having to make any other changes.
License: free
Requirements:

Download BlueMetal.bmskin

Download Icon Upgrade Instructions.zip

Re: [skin] BlueMetal

woah that's a pretty cool looking skin. one thing that looks tough to read is the area near the bottom, the title of the song and stuff. The back ground is kindof white with white text. i havn't actually tried it yet though.

Let me know what you think once you get it up on a screen. The text color and the background shade are easy enough to change. I plan on getting as much feedback as possible before I release the next 2 color versions of these skins. I'll probably make an update if things turn up.

Re: [skin] BlueMetal

Here is a little teaser of the next 2. The BM skins are almost complete, but the BTV skins still are not, so I'm goint to wait until I can release them as sets.

Re: [skin] BlueMetal

In the BTV version a list item that is selected uses a Yellow highlight text, in BM there's no text color change.

Other than that, the single look & feel for both applications is very nice.

Idealy, I'd like to be able to change the BTV text, but I have no Idea where to find it, or if it can be changed. I could change the BM version to use the same yellow highlight...

The yellow highlight doesn't look too bad (at least to me), so I wouldn't mind seeing it brought over to the BM skin.

I've set the BlueMetal skins to be my new defaults, so nice job.

Done.... It'll be in the update. It isn't exactly the same shade, but if someone can tell me the numerical value of the shade used in BTV I'd be happy to change it. The numerical value in photoshop is FFC000, but I don't think that will work for the XML file.

Re: [skin] BlueMetal

OK, scratch the part where I said, "Done"... I ran into a little hickup, maybe some one can help. I changed the highlight color to yellow, but I noticed on most of the settings screens, when I first navigate to them, all of the options are yellow untill I page the selector over them, then it resets.

When I made the change, I simply changed "HighlightTextColor=white" to "HighlightTextColor=yellow", before I had changed it to white, the color was listed in numerical form when it was blue.... could that make a difference?

Re: [skin] BlueMetal

First off, love the skin. I have the green one loaded up in beyond tv successfully, but when I went to install the skin for beyond media, it killed it!! I get this error when trying to start beyond media:

Beyond Media Graphics Failure

Please make sure you are not running in 256 color mode (8 bit mode) and have
the latest versions of your video drivers and Managed DirextX9.

Neither of those two apply, I'm running in 32 bit mode and have the latest drivers & directx9. Any idea what's causing this, and also, anybody know how I can set beyond media to load default skin? (i tried removing the green metal skin folder out of the directory and it still gives me the error).

"255,192,0" would be the conversion for FFC000

The BTV skin for BM uses highlight text colors of "227,186,34"

I am getting the same error. Now to figure out now to uninstall this thing to get BM to load...

The BTV skin works well, though, and looks great.
