Exclamation Having Trouble?

Hey folks,

Couple of notes...

If you are having trouble installing a plugin/skin please note the following issues:

USING BEYOND MEDIA BASIS
These plugins/skins were created for Beyond Media, THIS IS NOT the "standard" software included with FireFly which is actually Beyond Media Basic. If you are using Beyond Media Basic I encourage you to try the free trial of Beyond Media, it brings a sleuth of new options, these plugins below, and a nice DirectX interface. With that said, if you attempt to install a plugin and it ask you to pick an application to open it with, chances are you are using Beyond Media Basic.

USING WINDOWS 2000
Plugins/skins will not install automatically on Win2K boxes without some work.
1) Rename the .bmplugin or .bmskin extension to .cab.
2) Open the .cab file and look at Manifest.XML this will give you the install directory location.
3) Browse to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\snapstream\beyond media\plugins and create a subdirectory for the plugin. (Note: for skins goto \skins instead of \plugins).
4) Drag the contents into the respective folder and restart BM.

Note: Application Data is a hidden directory and you may have to type it in the explorer bar.

UNINSTALLING
Uninstalling Plugins/skins is easy. Close BM and browse to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\snapstream\beyond media\plugins. When there just delete the folder of the plugin you wish to uninstall. If you delete a skin, make sure its not the skin you are currently using!

BTV INTEGRATED PLUGINS
If a plugin takes advantage of BTV it likely needs to have BTV loaded BEFORE BM. Also it may add a "slight" delay when initially starting BM.

DVD LIBRARY
DVD Library will NOT playback DVDs on a trial version of BM without using a hack (and this has NOT been tested extensively). It uses the standard DVD module for playback.

SUPPORT
DO NOT CONTACT TECH SUPPORT ABOUT ISSUES WITH A PARTICULAR PLUGIN. If you are experiencing issues with a plugin please post a detailed description of the problem on the respective thread. Also, please remember the plugin developers are not paid, and are doing this on their free time; therefore, please be nice and realize they may not always be able to solve an issue or respond to your post.
