Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

So, does this have to run on a workstation with BTV server, or can it run on a link with BM ?

In theory it can run on link too . It may need to be fixed, but *in theory* it does not have any API limitation preventing it from working.

Another developer is working on a BTV settings plugin, that all BTV plugins will be able to use to determine port/password/ip/etc. Until thats released, I am not sure if it can find the port. So give it a try and report back.

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

The whole thing was develiped on a link machine so it should be just fine.

It uses the UpNp stuff I posted earlier so discovers the BTV servers automatically. The only thing it does not support yet is a password on the BTV server.

Cheers

Cool - so I assume that UpNp has to be turned on on the servers.

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

I've not done so on mine so maybe its on by defaullt!, As long as LINK can find your server then this plugin should.

I'd be interested in seeing a screen shot from yours (nanook105) as you have multiple servers which I don't.

Cheers

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

I may not get to it until tomorrow, but I'll post back my results. UpNp is not turned on on my servers, so I will try it turned off and on to see if there is a difference.

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

Mine won't work to a link device with UPnP off or on. it shows up on the BM with only "MEDIASERVER- Beyond TV Server" in the field and nothing else. I ran it last night with UPnP turned off then read this and turned it on with no change. Any ideas?

I have also experienced zero luck using the Tuner View program. I have no problems with link and use it daily. Is there anything that could be messing with the connection between the link and server IE. windows firewall?

OK, the PNP bit is working, its that that has returned "MEDIASERVER- Beyond TV Server" so now we know that works without it switched on.

So this is from a LINK machine?
What software levels are you on (server and client)?
Is there anything in the BM log
Do you have a password set for the webadmin

Do you have messenger or something so we can get this sorted quick.

Thanks for trying it.

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

ok - I was able to try this tonight. I don't have UpNp installed on either one of my servers. I don't have link running (locally), but it is installed on this PC. When I start BM, it displays info, but only from the first server in the list (when I start BTV Link, PVR is always the first server in the list to choose from).

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

some very weird behavior while running this. Both of my PVRs have cable boxes, and while this was running, both of them were resetting/changing to the current channel 3 times every minute. One was recording, the other was just changing to what seemed to be a random channel over and over (actually, it may have been the last channel that I recorded from over 10 hours ago). Now I may not be running the current gold version , so that may have something to do with it.

I shut down BM, but the behavior on the servers did not stop. I shut down the workstaiton that was running BM and the plugin, and the behavior stopped.

I had a similar experience:

While BTV was recording channel 76, I shut down BM and installed the plugin. All seemed fine on restarting BM. The display accurately reported channel 76 as recording. I poked around the settings menu, opened BTV and exited back to BM at which point I noticed that the display showed the tuner, but not that BTV was still recording.

Skip to 10 mins later... channel 76 is no longer recording, but the USB-UIRT is now sending channel change messages every few seconds, always for channel 76. This is in a single tuner configuration. A reboot did nothing to fix this - after a few minutes I'd start getting the channel change behaviour.

Unfortunately I had to remove the plugin. I'm still using BTV 3.5.1 if that's relevant.

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

Just to update, I thought the behavior stopped after I rebooted the BM workstation, but when I got up this morning, both of my PVRs were still doing the channel change thing. I shutdown/restarted both servers, and it's still happening.

Re: [plugin] BTV Status (ON HOME SCREEN!)

You probably need to uninstall the plugin.!

To do this - shutdown BM, then check in task manager that it's gone! (ssbeyondmedia.exe not running) then delete the tunerstatus plugin directory.

Sorry for the hassle.
