Hey, I have no problem with sarcasm in the right place. I thought that was quite a funny comment. I'd especially like to see ads that have been converted from a poor video source, shown in the wrong aspect ratio and with the wrong sound level. That would complete the experience for me.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Jan 24 Update)

So I know everyone here knows all about it but since there is no way to get to the old postings (That I know of) of previous releases I have to ask! What happened to the rip function?? A bit of pressure from the big boys? I just havn't been on the board for a couple of weeks and after looking through all of the messages I relize it must have been discussed and droped, but I feel like I can't get caught up without asking...

Thanks

thanks for the suggestion - I think that was the problem, anyway I used dvdshrink instead of dvddecrypter & its now working fine.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Jan 24 Update)

The rip function was removed b/c of potential legal problems. No details were given about who applied what pressure, etc. However, the developers of this plugin did decide to drop it. Most users agreed that it wasn't such a big loss, and in all of the discussion, someong suggested dvdshrink, which is a bit nicer than dvd decrypter imo.

Thats what I figured happend... Thanks for the update... I will miss the ease of popping a DVD in and having it auto rip, because I run Beyond media from a TV it was just ease of use that I liked...

Thanks Guys for this great plugin!

The problem isn't subtitles but Closed Caption. I can turn on subtitles and have two seperate CC/Subtitle listings going on at the same time.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Jan 24 Update)

OK OK heard that the DVD Plugin was out and would give it a shot last night and just cannot get it to play the ripped DVD movies. Ripped with both DVDDecryptor (vob and iso) and DVDShrink. When I re-parse the directory my movie shows up just fine but clicking the movie (I am assuming is suppose to play it) does absolutely nothing. Help needed please! Also I installed the tools required for the iso format also. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Jan 24 Update)

Are you using a mouse? I might be getting confused, but I didn't think this plugin was mouse-compatible yet. I seem to remember that being noted in the original release notes, though it's not mentioned in this thread.

Keyword being "clicking". Mark is right, the mouse listeners are not entirely implemented, you need to use a keyboard or remote. I'll update the notes.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Jan 24 Update)

I knew it had to be something simple...I am glad I registered on this forum because I have a system to build and this was driving me crazy. I will try this at lunch time and post back to let ya know. Thanks again!

That was it everyone had to just use my remote and there it was first the DVD information then played just fine. I cannot stress enough how this will change the way I watch movies on this system. Now all I need is a couple of bigger Hard Drives to get all of them backed up. Thanks again look forward to future releases of this plugin.

The plugin still uses the BM DVD player, so if BM can play the real DVD normally, the only guess I can make is that somehow during the ripping process it decided to make your subtitles closed captions.

I dunno, I'm running low on ideas on this one since I've never seen it happen before.

I might be able to squeeze those poor quality ads in, are you sure you want them?
